Onitsuka Tiger

The brand perfectly captures the current mood - celebrating individuality and rejecting strict rules. Mixing fashion and sport may seem like a common thing, but the truth is that the rest of the world is only catching up with what Onitsuka Tiger has been at the forefront since 1949. Onitsuka is one of the oldest shoe manufacturers in all of Japan.

In Japan they know how to do it

Onitsuka Tiger was founded by Kihachiro Onitsuka in 1949 in Kobe, Japan. Kihachiro was passionate about sports and wanted to create high-quality athletic footwear to help young athletes perform better. Do these sneakers remind you of something a lot? Onitsuka Tiger is actually the forerunner of Asics. In addition to the idea of a healthy lifestyle, these two brands have also shared an address since the 1970s. They merged for a while, but in 2002 there was a resurrection of the original brand Onitsuka Tiger, under which Asics again offers classic series and retro editions. The brand gained international recognition when its shoes were worn by athletes at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. The brand provided sports shoes to athletes, including marathon runners, further establishing its reputation for quality and performance. One of their most signature silhouettes are the Mexico 66, Serrano or Delegation. The Mexico 66 was first introduced in 1966, and the name "Mexico" is a reference to the 1968 Summer Olympics held in Mexico City. There is a high probability that the Mexico 66 model will follow Sambas into the fashion world. Bella Hadid was the first person to be seen wearing them and others quickly followed her - Kaia Gerber, Hailey Bieber and many more. What's more, they were a part of the iconic yellow black stripe jumpsuit look from the Kill Bill movie. So maybe they'll be the new Nike Cortez which starred in Forrest Gump. Onitsuka Tiger also made it to the designer high fashion world through collaborations with Givenchy and Valentino.
