The Columbia Sportswear Company, abbreviated as Columbia, is an American brand of outdoor clothing and equipment. The company was founded in 1938 by Paul Lamfrom. Columbia's jackets, which were breathable, waterproof and had replaceable liners, were the biggest boom. In addition to sports jackets, other types of sportswear, including accessories, footwear and camping equipment, are also produced under the Columbia brand.
