The brand name Napapijri refers to the Finnish word meaning the Arctic Circle. Despite the Finnish origin of the brand name, it is an Italian manufacturer of outdoor clothing. The company was founded in 1987 and started by producing travel bags. Later it added outdoor clothing, fashion accessories and shoes to its range. Napapijri's best known product is the Skidoo sports jacket.
