After failed attempts in the '90s, when Nike was trying to infiltrate the new market, Reese Forbes, Gino Iannucci, Richard Mulder and Danny Supa, a professional skate team, came to the rescue of Nike's name around the beginning of the new millennium. They put together sneakers that will win over both the skate community and the general public of sneakerheads. The model is based on the classic b-ball Dunks by designer Peter Moore. The new technology used here is Zoom Air on the heel of the shoe along with a large padded tongue for greater comfort. Finally, Nike offers wearable and comfortable sneakers for the skate. The decision of the millennium was to launch the model in limited numbers only in exclusive shops. This strategic move unleashed an incredible hype resulting in endless queues that exceptionally degenerated into a riot.
