Basic info

Air Max 98

Unfortunately, AM98 never achieved such popularity and fame and mostly remained at the mercy of discounts. The first model was released in February 1998. The sole of the shoe is an air capsule. It runs along the entire length, as the previous model (97) did. Back then it was then the most affordable running shoe on the market. It included a sophisticated lacing system and colour combinations chosen for the first release were in outdoor tones. After a few months, the Air Max 98 TL model comes on the scene. The design balances the chubby silhouette of the AM98 with its more elegant appearance. The air capsule again lines the entire length of the shoe but is more segmented. Despite its rough beginnings, the Air Max 98 received a double retro edition - 2000 and 2014. The colour combination has historically returned to the Air Max 95 colours, which Sergio Lozano also designed.
