Pleasures' founder Alex James originally worked as an IT tech whose passions laid within the fashion industry. However, he took the chance and started a fashion brand that has become a part of the industry and can be now seen on Wiz khalifa, Playboi Carti, The Weekend or Kylie Jenner. This Los Angeles-based streetwear brand creates graphic-heavy clothing and accessories that draw inspiration from the nostalgia of the grunge, metal, and punk subcultures of the 1990s. Same as countless other brands, Pleasures releases seasonal styles that can help the brand to keep its relevance throughout the whole year. But Pleasures is more than just a high-end streetwear brand. The apparel has a certain rough quality that other brands tend to overlook. Pleasures remains loyal to their punk roots and it appears that selling out is not in their plans. The brand has also experienced some controversy when it released a tee that featured Kurt Cobain's suicide note. People criticised it heavily but the brand survived this phase which eventually strengthened its position within the streetwear culture.
