The company was founded in 1948 by Rudolf Dassler, the brother of adidas founder Adolf Dassler. The two brothers had a falling out, leading to the creation of their respective companies. Its logo features a leaping Puma, often referred to as the "Puma Cat" or "Puma Jumping," symbolising agility, speed, and athleticism. The Puma logo is distinct and recognizable, representing the brand's commitment to performance and style and it is displayed on everything from Puma sneakers, through clothing, up to accessories or footballs. The brand is closely associated with various sports, including soccer, athletics, basketball, and motorsports. Moreover it sponsors numerous professional athletes and sports teams, including soccer clubs like AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund, as well as individual athletes like sprinter Usain Bolt and soccer player Neymar Jr. In addition, Puma collaborated on special footwear and clothing capsules with Rhuigi, Rick and Morty or RIPNDIP.
