adidas Originals

The history of adidas dates back to 1920 when its founder, Adolf Dassler, began crafting athletic shoes in his mother's laundry room in Herzogenaurach, Germany. Initially known as the "Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory," Adolf and his brother Rudolf worked together to create innovative footwear for athletes. Their shoes gained recognition for their quality and performance, leading to their first major breakthrough during the 1936 Olympics when American sprinter Jesse Owens won four gold medals while wearing their spikes. The 1970s marked another milestone for adidas with the release of the iconic Superstar sneaker, distinguished by its distinctive shell toe and leather upper. Throughout the years, the brand continued to innovate and collaborate with athletes, designers, and celebrities. In recent years, adidas has expanded its reach beyond sportswear, delving into lifestyle and fashion realms. The brand's commitment to sustainability has also been a key focus, with initiatives such as the "Adidas Better Place Program" aiming to reduce environmental impact through responsible manufacturing practices and recycled materials. Today, adidas stands as one of the world's leading sportswear brands, known for its innovation, style, and unwavering dedication to supporting athletes' performance. Models like Stan Smith or Superstar are some of the best-selling silhouettes ever. Currently, the adidas Samba or Campus are the most sought-after models. The brand also includes a sports branch called adidas Performance. The latter differs in both focus and logo.

Forever timeless adidas Originals

What you might not have known is that the adidas Originals Samba silhouette was originally made for footballers and the first ever model looked nothing like the one we wear today. What's special about it is that it's the longest-running adidas shoe to ever exist. Moreover, it's the brand's best selling sneakers of all time. Adidas's founder Adi Dassler himself, created the silhouette and it must have been a huge accomplishment for him to see how popular and loved it turned out to be. In recent years, Samba's experienced quite the return through interesting collaborations. Celebrities like Bella Hadid, A$AP Rocky or Pharell Williams own a pair or two and have influenced the fashion forward enthusiasts to include Sambas into their collection. Pharell even has his own collection of Humanrace x adidas originals Samba in crazy colours with a modern feature, an elongated tongue. Adidas sneakers collection is carrying the letter S also in the next famous silhouette, the adidas Superstar. The shoe is so iconic that nearly everyone can imagine its design just from hearing the name. They've clearly been made to become Superstars. As it was common in the beginning of this model, it was created as a basketball shoe and was worn by over 75% of NBA players. In 1969, as a matter of fact, it was the first low-top shoe with a shelltoe. After multiple collaborations with Kanye West or Parley for the Oceans the brand sold over 15 million pairs of these adidas sneakers in 2015.
