Converse

In the vast landscape of fashion and footwear, few brands have left an extraordinary mark on both pop culture and everyday style as Converse. Synonymous with timeless design, self-expression, and a spirit of rebellion, Converse has transcended its origins as a basketball shoe to become an iconic symbol of individuality and creativity. Converse's journey began in 1908 when Marquis Mills Converse founded the Converse Rubber Shoe Company. The brand initially focused on producing rubber-soled shoes for sports, with a particular emphasis on basketball. In 1917, the Chuck Taylor All Star made its debut. Named after basketball player Charles "Chuck" Taylor, who played a pivotal role in popularising the shoe, the Chuck Taylor All Star quickly became a staple on and off the basketball court. With its canvas upper, rubber toe cap, and vulcanised rubber sole, it was a functional yet stylish choice. Exciting fact is that the basic design hasn't changed since 1917. Over the years the brand has collaborated with musicians such as Black Sabbath, Pink FLoyd, Ozzy Osbourne, Jimi Hendrix and many more. They even introduced special editions dedicated to Ramones and Kurt Cobain. In recent years they launched hyped up silhouettes, one of them being the Converse x Ader Error sought-after pair of regular sneakers with an artistic touch.

The immortal Chucks

For over a century, Converse has been a trendsetter in the world of footwear, crafting styles that transcend generations and subcultures. With its rich history and innovative designs, Converse has solidified its place as a cultural icon and it's more than sure they'll never be erased. Three of its most notable silhouettes – the Chuck 70, All Star or the recent Run Star Hike– epitomise the brand's commitment to timeless style, comfort, and creative expression. The Chuck 70 pays homage to the original Converse All Star introduced in 1917. This classic showcases attention to detail and superior craftsmanship. Its enduring design, marked by the iconic star logo and unmistakable toe cap, effortlessly bridges the gap between nostalgia and contemporary style. The Chuck 70's ability to seamlessly adapt to various fashion movements has made it a canvas for self-expression, allowing wearers to infuse their unique personalities. The All Star, Converse's first and original silhouette, has achieved legendary status in the world of sneakers. Its simple yet versatile design has made it a canvas for countless creative interpretations. Probably the most hyped Converse collaboration was made in cooperation with CDG and it brought us the signature heart motif of Comme Des Garçons on a playful sneaker in beige or black design. As the sneaker world evolves, brands keep trying new things also in terms of functionality and construction. Run Star Hike should represent the best of both worlds, combining old-school classic and durability of a hiking boot. Although there are for sure hiking/running shoes more suitable for movement than this one. But within the fashion sphere it's definitely worth the purchase.
