Today, most pros ride in these models. But this was not always the case. Nike skate sneakers have a rich and sometimes thorny history, which began in the 80s. It was not until 2001 that Snady Bodekecker, Nike's crisis manager, managed to infiltrate this specific community.
Nike SB is a very popular and successful sub-brand today. The SB Dunk model can only be obtained in premium shops and limited releases. But the beginnings of the brand were difficult. The brand felt the need to break through with skate sneakers in the 1990s. Unfortunately, it didn't work out for them and everyone continued to ride in Blazers or Air Jordan I, basketball shoes. It was only Sandy Bodecker who helped to make the Dunk suitable skateboard sneakers, along with true legends Rees Forbes, Gin Iannucc, Richard Mulder and Danny Supa.
