Nike SB

The idea for Nike SB was inspired by two key events in the late 1990s – the resurgence of skateboarding's popularity and the release of the Nike Dunk, a basketball shoe that skateboarders began to adopt for its design and durability. Nike SB officially launched in March 2002 with four initial Dunk Low Pro colorways. This marked Nike's dedicated entry into the skateboarding market. Nike SB has collaborated with numerous professional skateboarders, such as Paul Rodriguez, Stefan Janoski, and Eric Koston, to create signature shoe models tailored to their individual skateboarding styles. In 2023, the brand launched another collaborative Dunk silhouette with Yuto Horigome - the winner of the first Olympics in skateboarding. Its devotion to skateboarding got Nike SB to launch a dedicated app called "Nike SB" to cater to the skateboarding community. The app provides skate-related content, news, and product releases. The brand is known for its creative and unique themes for sneaker releases. Some themes have included fast food chains like McDonald's and Starbucks, as well as collaborations with skate shops and artists.

Skating in style has never been easier

Nike is all over the world and the brand truly tries to satisfy the needs of everyone. After the brand released the Dunk silhouette and seen how hyped it got around the skateboarding community they've decided to establish a sub-brand named Nike SB which draws inspiration from skate culture to create functional and stylish products that are made to meet the needs of skateboarders. The silhouettes released within the line are timeless, such as the Blazers, and some of them carry the legacy of professional riders like the Nike SB Janoski, a shoe with minimalist and simple design designed in a collaboration with Stefan Janoski, or Nike SB Nyjah Free which feature a lightweight, flexible construction and unique rubberised upper designed by Nyjah Huston and Nike. When we move to the most iconic silhouettes it definitely is the Dunk Low in a SB remake of the original basketball shoe. You can find these sneakers in different variations, colourways and collaborations. The list of collaborations includes interesting fashion labels like the Concepts, Frame or HUF. Moreover it offers non-traditional partnerships, for example with beverage companies such as Jarritos or Heineken and since it's all about the skating community of course we have to include a collaboration with Yuto Horigome, the winner of the very first Olympics in skateboarding. We could continue for ages, but you can see for yourself how amazing the sneakers are.
