Blue sneakers and shoes adidas Originals Gazelle

An iconic silhouette that has maintained its popularity since the mid-1960s and experienced their peak of popularity in the 1970s. It incorporated a brand new heel tab and it was updated with a hexagonal-patterned microcell outsole. Gazelle is the brand's first ever suede sports shoe. Leather was commonly used, but suede is lighter and has the same protective benefits. Together with the Campus or Samba silhouette they create a nice vintage trio that has strong retro feeling while being easily combinable. Originally Gazelles were offered in a red and blue colourway with signature white stripes on the sides. In 2016 Jean Khalifé, a footwear designer at adidas Originals, stated that they made sure to recreate the perfect archive shoe replica, millimetre-by-millimetre and stitch-by-stitch. This concerned adidas' approach to re-create the very original retro Gazelles. As many of the brands' silhouettes, Gazelle has become a classic in the Originals lineup. It has been embraced by various subcultures and fashion trends, remaining relevant and attractive across generations.
