Unlike the first Authentic model, which became the most popular shoe for the then raging wave of skateboarding by mistake, the new Era model is built specifically for children on boards. Tony Alvarez and Stacy Peralta collaborated on the design. Tony suggested that the Van Dorens cushion the shoe around their ankles for comfort. Various colourways have also been added. Model # 95 came out in the mid-1970s. Vans has often collaborated with the Supreme brand over the years. They also teamed up with famous designer Peter Saville in that collaboration, and they have prepared an all-over print edition with floral design, one of Vans' most tender works. A year later came the Star Wars theme, which every true fan of the Lucas saga duly appreciated.
